Is Penn State building a pipeline from Ohio to Happy Valley?

Not sure there is a better team in the country at keeping in state talent at home than Ohio State, but it seems that Coach Franklin and staff are looking to dive in and build a pipeline from the Buckeye State to Happy Valley.

The 2017 class currently has 8 verbal commitments, with 2 of them (Sean Clifford and Michael Miranda) being from the state of Ohio. After this past weekend, Matt Dotson (TE from Cincinnati, OH) is now believed to be trending towards the Nittany Lions, and Penn State seems to be in good standing with several other Ohio recruits in the 2017 class such as Danny Davis (WR from Springfield, OH), Joel Honigford (OT from Sugarcreek, OH), and Lynn Bowden (ATH from Youngstown, OH)

Below I laid out the commitments by year from Ohio for the last 10 years:

2017: 2 (Sean Clifford, Michael Miranda)
2016: 3 (Anthony Johnson, Antonio Shelton, Alex Gellerstedt)
2015: 0
2014: 1 (Chance Sorrell)
2013: 0
2012: 1 (Anthony Stanko)
2011: 0
2010: 0
2009: 1 (Nate Cadogan)
2008: 2 (Michael Zordich, Brandon Beachum)
2007: 0
2006: 0
